New Anniversary EP Black Star

2025 marks 40 years of Candlemass, and today we’re proud to unveil the first chapter of the celebrations.

Our brand new four-track EP Black Star will be released on May 9, 2025 via Napalm Records, featuring two brand new Candlemass songs together with two carefully chosen cover versions that pay tribute to some of the bands that helped shape the foundations of doom metal.

The EP opens with the epic title track “Black Star”, followed by the brand new instrumental “Corridors Of Chaos”, before venturing into our interpretations of Black Sabbath’s “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath” and Pentagram’s “Forever My Queen”. Together, these four tracks celebrate both the past and the future of Candlemass.

Produced by Marcus Jidell at Deep Well Stockholm, with mixing by Ronny Lahti and mastering by Patrick W. Engel, Black Star continues the heavy, epic tradition that Candlemass has carried for four decades. The stunning cover artwork was created by Daniele Valeriani.

The EP will be available on CD, digital formats and several vinyl editions, including a strictly limited Napalm Records exclusive splatter LP complete with booklet, poster and tote bag.
